Ellen DeGeneres Made One Move That Exposed Her Biggest Lie About Trump

Hollywood celebrities love to make dramatic statements.
Very few actually follow through.
And Ellen DeGeneres just got caught in a move that exposes everything wrong with elite hypocrisy.
DeGeneres Caught Making Massive California Purchase After "Fleeing" America
The former talk show host and her wife Portia de Rossi quietly dropped $27 million on a Montecito, California mansion roughly 14 months after they supposedly fled the United States for good because Donald Trump won the 2024 election.
DeGeneres insists she's not moving back to America permanently, according to People Magazine.
She claims she'll split time between California and the United Kingdom.
The couple purchased a $14 million farmhouse in England's Cotswolds in June 2024, several months before Trump's victory.
They later upgraded to a different glass-walled residence in the same region to accommodate de Rossi's horses.
But apparently the weather and horse scene in California kept calling her back.
One source admitted DeGeneres and de Rossi have been "missing the California weather and horse scene" since moving overseas.
The Pattern Hollywood Doesn't Want You to See
Remember when celebrities said they'd leave if Trump won in 2016?
Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, Cher, Barbra Streisand, and dozens more made the threat.
None of them actually left.
They clarified later their statements were "in jest" or "taken out of context."
DeGeneres actually went through with the move this time, selling off multiple California properties and relocating to England in November 2024.
She spoke at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre in July 2025, admitting Trump's election drove the decision.
"We got here the day before the election, and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in.' And we're like, 'We're staying here,'" DeGeneres said.
Residents in the Cotswolds told People they haven't seen DeGeneres "in ages" and she hasn't visited the local pub for "several months."
She was spotted shopping for the Montecito mansion the same day she was supposed to participate in a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.
That tells you everything about her priorities.
Following the Money Trail
DeGeneres has spent over $450 million buying and selling luxury homes over the past two decades.
She's one of Hollywood's most prolific house flippers, making tens of millions in profits from properties sold to celebrities like Ryan Seacrest, Sean Parker, and Ariana Grande.
Her most successful flip came in August 2024 when she sold a Carpinteria estate for $96 million after purchasing it for $70 million in 2022.
That's a $26 million profit in two years.
The comedian attempted to sell her original UK farmhouse for $30 million but struggled to find a buyer until she cut several million dollars from the asking price.
DeGeneres and de Rossi have bought and sold more than 20 properties since meeting in 2005.
Here's what this latest purchase really reveals.
DeGeneres spent 14 months telling everyone she left America because of Trump and could never live here again.
Now she's dropping $27 million on California real estate while claiming she's "staying" in the UK.
You can't have it both ways.
What DeGeneres Proves About Hollywood Hypocrisy
In 2016, dozens of Hollywood stars threatened to move if Trump won.
None followed through.
In 2024, celebrities like Eva Longoria, Rosie O'Donnell, and America Ferrera actually relocated after Trump's second victory.
DeGeneres joined them, making a big show of moving to England and selling her California properties.
She even issued an apology video about ICE enforcement in Minneapolis.
"I just wanted to say I am so sorry for what is happening in Minneapolis and our country, really, but specifically Minneapolis right now," DeGeneres said in the video.
But she couldn't stay away from the California lifestyle she built her fortune on.
The $27 million Montecito purchase proves what many Americans already suspected about Hollywood celebrities who threaten to leave over politics.
They love the outrage and attention.
They love virtue signaling to their liberal fan base.
But they can't actually give up the American dream that made them wealthy and famous in the first place.
DeGeneres will keep one foot in the UK for appearances and one foot in California for the mansion and horse scene.
Meanwhile, everyday Americans who can't afford $27 million backup mansions have to live with the consequences of the very policies these celebrities claim drove them away.
They don't get to escape to the English countryside when things get tough.
They're stuck in what Eva Longoria called a "dystopian country" while she splits time between Spain and Mexico.
Hollywood elites have been playing this game for decades, threatening to leave America while clinging to every privilege this country provides.
DeGeneres just got caught red-handed doing exactly what critics predicted she'd do all along.
