Dr. Fauci made one claim on TV that Donald Trump won’t want to hear
Donald Trump and his administration are trying to reopen the American economy.
But he is running into resistance from health “experts.”
And Dr. Fauci made one claim on TV that Donald Trump won’t want to hear.
The President’s social distancing guidelines expire on April 30.
22 million Americans lost their jobs the last four weeks as Governors across the country shutdown their state economies.
President Trump and millions of Americans would like to see Governors rescind their draconian lockdown orders and begin to allow Americans to slowly return to work.
But Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to throw coldwater on that idea saying reopening the economy risks a second wave of coronavirus infections.
Appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America Dr. Fauci claimed reopening the economy could “backfire.”
“I think the message is, clearly, this is something that is hurting from the standpoint of economics and the standpoint of things that have nothing to do with the virus, but unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery economically is not going to happen. So what you do if you jump the gun and go into a situation where you have a big spike, you’re going to set yourself back. So as painful as it is to go by the careful guidelines of gradually phasing into a reopening, it’s going to backfire. That’s the problem,” Dr. Fauci stated.
Health experts advocating for these shutdowns are not taking into account the economic devastation they are inflicting upon the country.
Entire industries are at risk of going under and ruining the livelihoods of millions of Americans.
America cannot keep the economy closed until there are no new cases of coronavirus or the government can test 10 million Americans per day.
That’s why so many Americans were pleased to hear the news that Governors in states like Ohio, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Idaho and others were ready to begin reopening their economies on May 1.
