Donald Trump took a huge polling lead over Joe Biden that keeps Democrats awake at night
Joe Biden’s stunning collapse in the polls is even worse than Democrats thought.
There is more bad news on the way.
And Donald Trump took a huge polling lead over Joe Biden that keeps Democrats awake at night.
The latest Harvard/Harris poll contained a deluge of doom regarding Joe Biden’s political standing.
The poll found Biden holding just a 43 percent approval rating, which is no longer a surprise.
For Democrats, the real dagger to the heart of their 2022 and 2024 prospects came in the internal poll numbers where the pollsters asked for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump’s approval numbers on the key issues.
And the Harvard/Harris poll found Donald Trump holding a double-digit lead over Joe Biden on the economy, job creation, immigration, and foreign policy.
Trump also led Biden on administering government – which served as a gut punch for Democrats considering they smeared Trump as incompetent and claimed Biden would restore “normalcy” to American politics.
For example, respondents gave Biden a 40 percent approval rating on the economy, 44 percent on stimulating jobs, 39 percent on fighting terrorism, 35 percent on immigration, 39 percent on foreign affairs, 42 percent on administering the government, 38 percent on dealing with violence and crime in the country, and 33 percent — his lowest — on handling Afghanistan.
In contrast, 56 percent approved of Trump’s handling of the economy, 58 percent on stimulating jobs, 55 percent on fighting terrorism, 52 percent on immigration, 52 percent on foreign affairs, and 49 percent on administering the government. The only issue Biden scored higher on is “reacting to the coronavirus,” 50 percent to his predecessor’s 47 percent.
This is the second set of polling data that dropped this week showing Biden trailing Trump in key metrics.
A USA Today/Suffolk poll found Trump leading Biden 44 to 40 percent in a hypothetical 2024 match up.
These numbers are driving Democrat’s anxiety levels through the roof.
Democrats ran Joe Biden in 2020 believing Biden to be an inoffensive and “non-toxic” alternative to Donald Trump.
But after just ten months in office, the public clearly has buyer’s remorse and prefers Donald Trump’s policies and record of achievement to that of Joe Biden’s.
