Donald Trump made one promise in the Rose Garden that left his supporters speechless
President Trump held a White House press conference to try and reset the Presidential campaign.
But all hell broke loose afterwards.
And that’s because Donald Trump made one promise in the Rose Garden that left his supporters speechless.
At one point during the President’s remarks, Trump revealed that he planned on taking executive action on amnesty for illegal aliens brought to this country as children.
The Supreme Court blocked the President’s attempt to rescind Barack Obama’s lawless amnesty program known as “DACA.”
But the President stunned supporters by saying he intended to announce an action on the program that would allow the children of illegal aliens to remain in America.
“The Democrats had their chance, and they blew it. But we’re going to take care of DACA because I’m going to be doing, in the not-too-distant future, pretty soon I’m going to be signing a new immigration action — very, very big merit-based immigration action that, based on the DACA decision, I’ll be able to do,” President Trump stated.
These comments followed remarks the President made in an interview with Telemundo where the President promised action on DACA.
“They’re going to be part of a much bigger bill on immigration. It’s going to be a very big bill, a very good bill, and merit-based bill and it will include DACA, and I think people are going to be very happy,” Trump told Telemundo.
President Trump added that his plan would “give them a road to citizenship.”
Many of the President’s supporters from 2016 were confused over these comments.
And some suspected the President’s liberal son-in-law Jared Kushner used Joe Biden’ lead in the polls to push this amnesty program as a “cure all” that will supposedly attract swing voters back to the President.
But if the President goes along with Kushner’s amnesty scheme it could alienate his core voters.
