Donald Trump made one announcement about the border that left Joe Biden speechless
Joe Biden caused a crisis on the southern border.
There is no end in sight to this debacle.
But now Donald Trump made one announcement about the border that left Joe Biden speechless.
In an interview with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News, Donald Trump revealed that he intended to take a trip to the border in the very near future.
Trump relayed that Border Patrol and ICE agents wanted him to visit and former President Trump said he owed it to them to take them up on the invitation.
“A lot of people want me to. Border Patrol and all the people at ICE, they want me there, they asked me to go. So I sort of feel like I owe it to them. They’re great people, they’re doing an incredible job,” Trump explained. “It’s a very, very dangerous situation. I’d love not to be involved. Somebody else is supposed to be doing it.”
Trump blasted Biden for completely mismanaging the situation at the border.
“I’m not sure if I really should do it, other than the fact that I have such respect for the Border Patrol and for ICE. These people, they’re dying for leadership, and there’s nothing, there’s no leadership,” Trump added. “You have to see the squalor. The children. And frankly, people that have come into the country. When you look at what’s happening. The dirt and the filth. That’s why they’re not letting the press in.”
The example Trump cited was Biden rolling back the remain in Mexico protocols, which led to the President of Mexico criticizing Biden.
“He’s supposed to go and make the decision to stay in Mexico. He ended that,” Trump continued. “It’s incredible. We are not getting along with Mexico any longer. We have a great president of Mexico who was great to me.”
Reporters asked Biden about Trump’s comments the following day and Biden was at a loss for words saying he didn’t care.
But polling shows why Biden does care about the border and is desperate to avoid this topic.
A recent ABC/Ipsos poll found 57 percent of Americans disapprove of how Biden is handling the border crisis.
If Biden gets into an extended back and forth with Trump on the issue of the border, it will focus the American political discussion on one of Biden’s biggest vulnerabilities.
