Donald Trump made an election announcement that left his supporters speechless
President Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party.
Every move Trump makes attracts massive attention and scrutiny.
But now Donald Trump made an election announcement that left his supporters speechless.
Donald Trump endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate Republican Primary.
Many Trump supporters were confused by that endorsement, as Dr. Oz in the past supported abortion-on-demand, red flag gun confiscation laws, and even ran an entire episode of his popular television show on the topic of promoting transgender surgeries for minor children.
The other main contender in the race was David McCormick, a left-wing hedge fund executive who worked in the Bush administration, supports increasing immigration, and praised Joe Biden.
Dr. Oz and McCormick pummeled each other with tens of millions of dollars in negative TV ads.
But since Pennsylvania Republicans never believed either one, it created an opening for conservative commentator Kathy Barnette to rise in the polls.
Barnette – a black, female Air Force veteran – surged in the polls after a commanding debate performance where she destroyed the Left’s talking points on abortion by telling her life story about how her mother had her when a 21-year-old raped her at age 11.
After multiple polls showed Barnette within the margin of error behind Dr. Oz, Trump issued a statement attacking Barnette as unelectable.
“Kathy Barnette will never be able to win the General Election against the Radical Left Democrats,” Trump’s statement read. “She has many things in her past which have not been properly explained or vetted, but if she is able to do so, she will have a wonderful future in the Republican Party — and I will be behind her all the way.”
There is no evidence Kathy Barnette is unelectable.
Saying a conservative is unelectable because they may have said controversial things in the past is the same tactic the establishment used to try and stop Trump in 2016.
Sean Hannity – who is really Dr. Oz’s top booster and the one who played the biggest role in pressing Trump to endorse the left-wing TV doctor – hosted Dr. Oz on Thursday night to attack Barnette.
Hannity claimed – without citing any evidence – that the conservative, pro-Trump Barnette was unelectable.
Dr. Oz readily agreed with that comment.
“I concur with your diagnosis,” Dr. Oz stated. “She is a mystery. Barnette won’t answer questions about her record, but what I do know concerns me.”
Barnette rose in the polls because Pennsylvania Republicans did not view establishment moderates like Dr. Oz and McCormick as palatable options.
And now that Barnette is threatening to win the Primary, her rivals are throwing the kitchen sink at her.
