Donald Trump just heard the jaw-dropping number of Republicans who support impeachment
Donald Trump’s political fate rests in the hands of the Republican Senate.
Democrats need 20 Republican Senators to join them in voting to convict on articles of impeachment to remove the President from office.
And Donald Trump just heard the jaw-dropping number of Republicans who support impeachment.
Many Republican Senators are trying to keep their heads down and avoid commenting on the Democrats’ impeachment witch hunt.
But that is proving to be impossible.
The Daily Caller reached out to all 53 Senate Republicans to ask if they would rule out voting to convict the President on articles of impeachment.
The Daily Caller reports:
Most Republican senators refused to rule out voting to remove President Donald Trump from office in an impeachment trial over the Ukraine scandal when contacted by the Daily Caller this week.
The Caller contacted all 53 Republican Senate offices Monday and Tuesday to ask if senators would rule out voting to remove Trump from office, and received a variety of responses–seven senators explicitly rejected impeachment in their statement.
Mississippi Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith, North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, Ohio Senator Rob Portman, Oklahoma Republican Jim Inhofe, South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds and Kansas Senator Jerry Moran all told the Daily Caller they opposed impeaching Donald Trump.
There are many more Republican Senators that don’t support impeachment.
Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul strongly defended the President.
Right now there are probably a half dozen Republicans – led by Never-Trump RINO Mitt Romney – who could possibly vote to convict the President on Nancy Pelosi’s articles of impeachment.
But that is a far cry from reaching the threshold necessary to remove the President from office.
