Democrats just got smacked with some really bad news about the 2020 election
For months, Democrats thought the 2020 election was theirs to lose.
Then everything changed.
And Democrats just got smacked with some really bad news about the 2020 election.
Some Democrats are having buyer’s remorse now that former Vice President Joe Biden has all but locked up the Democrat Party nomination for President.
Biden’s disappeared from the campaign trail during the coronavirus outbreak and the few appearances he’s made have been uneven and raised more questions about him being senile.
The coronavirus outbreak also raised the profile of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
New York is the epicenter of the outbreak in the United States and Cuomo’s daily press briefings received praise from both Republicans and Democrats.
Cuomo’s ability to command the stage during the coronavirus pandemic led many on the Left to think the New York Governor is the one Democrat that can stand toe-to-toe with President Trump on the issue of the coronavirus outbreak, which is now the issue many political strategists believe will define the 2020 election.
But during Cuomo’s latest press briefing, Cuomo shot down the idea of being a candidate for President in 2020.
“I am not going to rise to the debate of a political challenge,” Cuomo said. “I am not running for president. I was never running for president. I said from day one I wasn’t running for president.”
That leaves Democrats stuck with Joe Biden.
The former Vice President looked like a formidable candidate last year when he entered the race.
But Biden showed his age – he would be the oldest President ever inaugurated – and his cognitive decline as the campaign dragged on.
Biden put away Bernie Sanders not because of Biden’s superior skills as a candidate, but because the party establishment ganged up on Sanders and dragged Biden across the finish line.
