Democrats have this ace in the hole to rig the 2022 election
Polls show Democrats face a landslide defeat in November.
But there is one variable the pollsters are not factoring in.
And Democrats have this ace in the hole to rig the 2022 election.
Candidates in today’s political environment rely on small-dollar donations collected through email fundraising.
And the largest email service provider in America may be censoring Republicans’ ability to fundraise.
44 percent of Americans use GMAIL as their primary email address.
That is 18 points higher than the next closest competitor, Yahoo.
Now a bombshell new study from North Carolina State University found that GMAIL sends the vast majority of fundraising emails from Democrats to users inbox while blocking nearly 80 percent of Republican fundraising emails by marking them as spam.
Researchers wrote that GMAIL “retained the majority of left-wing candidate emails in inbox (10.12% marked as spam) while sent the majority of right-wing candidate emails to the spam folder (up to 77.2% marked as spam).”
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Minnesota Congressman Tom Emmer, and National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Florida Senator Rick Scott slammed Google’s censorship of GOP fundraising emails in a joint statement.
“Big Tech has been silencing conservative voices and actively working against Republicans for multiple cycles. Google’s e-mail suppression – which affects the GOP’s fundraising and GOTV efforts – is another egregious example. Silicon Valley oligarchs are suppressing free political speech,” the statement read.
Republicans cited the study to claim that GMAIL censorship cost Republican candidates over $2 billion in donations since 2019.
National Republicans claimed that they raised $737 million through the online fundraising platform WinRed in 2019 and 2020, with just 32 percent of emails delivered, meaning that if Republicans received equivalent delivery to Democrats, they would have raised another $1.5 billion in 2020.
In 2021 and 2022, GOP candidates raised $249 million from donors with a GMAIL address.
Republicans argue GMAIL sending GOP fundraising emails to spam cost Republican candidates more than $500 million in donations.
Money is the lifeblood of politics.
Without campaign contributions, candidates can’t fund TV or Get-Out-The-Vote programs.
While money isn’t everything, candidates need enough money to run competitive campaigns.
And tech giant Google is tilting the playing field in favor of the Democrats by handing the Left an unfair financial advantage in censoring Republican fundraising emails.
