Chuck Schumer is about to run head first into this massive defeat

Democrats continue to descend into disarray.

There is open rebellion on the Left.

And now Chuck Schumer is about to run head first into this massive defeat.

The latest government inflation report in January showed prices surged 7.5 percent year-over-year.

That explosion in inflation scared Democrats who are running for re-election.

Arizona Democrat Mark Kelly – one of the most endangered Democrat incumbents in America – publicly broke with Joe Biden and said he was not happy with the administration’s handling of the issue.

“No. Until — I mean, until it comes down to something that’s more sustainable and that families across the country can actually deal with, no,” Senator Kelly told CNN.

But the biggest blow to Biden’s agenda came from West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin, who threw cold water on Chuck Schumer’s attempt to revive a nearly $5 trillion socialist spending bill.

Manchin blasted the rampant inflation on Biden’s watch as a massive tax increase on the American people.

“I’ve been ringing the alarm bell forever — I mean, for the last year about inflation. Nobody’s been listening. Now, we’re seeing a basic threat. It’s a 7.5% tax on everybody, on every product you buy. It’s just unbelievable,” Manchin told West Virginia MetroNews’ “Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval.”

Manchin added that it was time for the Federal Reserve to do its job and end the practice of cheap money.

“So, it’s time for the Federal Reserve to tackle the issue head-on. They can’t be pussyfooting around like they’ve been,” Manchin added.

Manchin supported ending quantitative easing and raising interest rates as “the only way they’ve ever been able to control it. I mean, you’ve got to stomp it down. I mean, if you don’t, it’s going to continue to run. 7.5%, that’s the highest in four decades, 40 years, it’s just unbelievable. And we’re not doing anything about it. We’re just sitting back there and watching it.”

Manchin also opposed any new socialist spending, saying “[N]ow is not a time to be throwing caution to the wind and putting more trillions of dollars out.”

Without Joe Manchin’s vote, any massive socialist spending bill is dead.

Chuck Schumer hoped to pass trillions in new socialist spending to transform America into a cradle-to-grave welfare state before the November elections.

That now looks like a pipedream.
