Chuck Schumer hit Trump with an impeachment curveball that he won’t like one bit
Nancy Pelosi and RINO Republicans in the House want to punish Donald Trump with an impeachment even though Trump is out of office.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
And that’s because Chuck Schumer hit Trump with an impeachment curveball that he won’t like one bit.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are trying to hash out a timeline for a Senate impeachment trial.
McConnell is plowing ahead even though most Republicans believe it’s unconstitutional to hold a trial for Trump since he is out of office and impeachment is intended to remove a sitting President.
Minority Leader McConnell asked to transmit the article on Thursday and then begin the trial in two weeks to give the President’s lawyers time to prepare for a trial.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi decided to speed up the process by sending the article over on Monday.
“Make no mistake, a trial will be held in the United States Senate and there will be a vote whether to convict the president. I’ve spoken to Speaker Pelosi, who informed me that the articles will be delivered to the Senate on Monday,” Chuck Schumer stated.
Even still, Schumer has still not agreed to how long the trial will last.
“I’ve been speaking to the Republican leader about the timing and duration of the trial,” Schumer declared.
McConnell responded that Democrats were rushing an unfair set up that denied Donald Trump due process.
“Senate Republicans strongly believe we need a full and fair process where the former president can mount a defense and the Senate can properly consider the factual, legal and constitutional questions at stake,” McConnell stated in a Senate floor speech.
But Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are intent on punishing Donald Trump even if it violates the Constitution and further divides the country.
