Candace Owens called out Kash Patel over one fight that exposed a massive problem with his Charlie Kirk case

Candace Owens just drew a line in the sand against a powerful Trump Administration official.
The conservative firebrand isn't backing down from her quest for answers.
And Candace Owens does not "trust" Kash Patel after he was reportedly upset over Joe Kent & Tulsi Gabbard trying to solve Charlie Kirk's murder.
Conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10 sent shockwaves through the MAGA movement and sparked an investigation that has conservatives divided over who's actually looking for the truth.
Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA and became one of President Trump's closest allies, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University.
Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson within 33 hours and charged him with aggravated murder.¹
But Candace Owens, Kirk's longtime friend and former Turning Point USA colleague, isn't satisfied with the official narrative.
She's been raising questions about the investigation since day one – and now she's turning her fire on FBI Director Kash Patel.
FBI Director reportedly alarmed by intelligence officials digging deeper
The New York Times dropped a bombshell report revealing tensions between Patel and Joe Kent, director of the National Counterterrorism Center.²
Kent started digging through FBI case files looking for connections between Robinson and foreign governments or radical groups.
Patel hit the roof when he found out, claiming Kent had no business poking around in the FBI's investigation.³
Things got so heated that Patel, Kent, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Vice President JD Vance, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles ended up in a White House meeting trying to hash it out.⁴
Sources say Patel wasn't happy Kent got his hands on internal FBI documents about the case.⁵
The FBI Director's concern? That Kent's parallel investigation would somehow hand Robinson's lawyers exactly what they need to argue their client didn't act alone.⁶
Of course, if Robinson is guilty and didn’t act alone, you’d think the FBI Director might be concerned with bringing his cohorts to justice as well.
But what Patel should really be worried about handing ammunition to Robinson’s lawyers is the fact that the FBI Director’s own girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, “works with TPUSA.”

Rightly or wrongly, a jury is very likely to hear questions raised about the impartiality of Patel’s investigation given his romantic links to a TPUSA insider.

Owens questions why Patel wants to control the investigation
Owens didn't mince words when she saw the Times report.
"This article is literally about how Kash Patel is upset that Joe Kent and Tulsi Gabbard are trying to do their jobs and solve the Charlie Kirk murder case," Owens wrote on X. "It's like Kash Patel wants to be the sole point person on this—why? I do not trust him at all."⁷
She's been publicly skeptical of the investigation for weeks, sharing alleged text messages from Kirk that she claims show he feared for his life before his death.
Owens released screenshots sent by Kirk just days before his assassination, with messages reading "I am not sure if I will live to see the end of this revolution" and "I might be Moses though. I might not see this whole thing through."⁸
She's also revealed group chat messages from Kirk expressing frustration about losing Jewish donors over his refusal to cancel Tucker Carlson from Turning Point USA's AmericaFest event.⁹
The conservative podcaster has gone so far as to say she's glad Turning Point USA didn't invite her to speak at Kirk's memorial because she would have "gone torched earth on the official narrative."¹⁰
Deep divisions emerge in conservative movement over Kirk investigation
The internal battle over Kirk's investigation highlights a broader struggle within the Trump Administration over who controls terrorism-related cases.
Kent's defenders argue he was simply doing his job by ensuring there were no foreign or domestic extremist ties to Robinson.
The National Counterterrorism Center is specifically tasked with coordinating counterterrorism intelligence across the federal government.
But Patel and DOJ officials worried that any public discussion of potential accomplices or foreign connections could help Robinson's defense team at trial.
At a Senate hearing, Patel revealed the FBI is now investigating "more than 20 individuals" connected to an online chat room where Robinson was active before the shooting.¹¹
Despite the tensions, Patel and Gabbard released a joint statement pledging unity: "The FBI and intelligence community under the direction of President Trump will leave no stone unturned in the investigation of the assassination of our friend, Charlie Kirk."¹²
Yet an FBI source later pushed back on the Times report, telling Fox News Digital that tensions between the agencies were "exaggerated" and there was no serious dispute.¹³
Kirk's death has become a flashpoint within MAGA world, with some conservatives like Owens demanding deeper investigation into potential conspiracies while others defend the FBI's handling of the case.
Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for Robinson, who faces seven state charges including aggravated murder.¹⁴
The case has also attracted attention from conspiracy theorists who question everything from the timeline of Robinson's arrest to allegations of potential accomplices.
Owens has suggested Kirk's changing views on Israel may have played a role in his death, though she's provided no evidence linking any specific individuals or groups to the assassination.
For now, the FBI and National Counterterrorism Center maintain they're working together to ensure justice for Kirk.
But Owens isn't buying it – and she's making clear she doesn't trust Patel to get to the bottom of what really happened on September 10.
