Black Lives Matter forced the Seattle Police Chief to make one confession
This past week, Black Lives Matter and Antifa activists seized control of a six block area of Seattle that included City Hall.
Police retreated from the scene on the orders of left-wing politicians and anarchy ensued.
And now Black Lives Matter forced the Seattle Police Chief to make one confession.
Black Lives Matter and Antifa demonstrators took over a six block area of downtown Seattle and rechristened it the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.
Armed guards patrolled checkpoints as the Fake News Media portrayed the insurgents claiming dominance over an area of a major U.S. city a peaceful hippie commune.
That could not be farther from the truth.
Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best told the media that violent crimes were taking place in the autonomous zone and that the police could not respond to calls for help on rapes and robberies.
“These are responses to emergency calls — rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we’re not able to get to,” Best told the press.
“If that is your mother, your sister, your cousin, your neighbor’s kid that is being raped, robbed assaulted (or) otherwise victimized, you’re not going to want to have to report that it took the police three times longer to get there to provide services to them,” Best added.
Best warned of the dangers this posed for the residents living in the area.
“It was never an option to have residents of the precinct, many of whom are members of our most marginalized communities by the way, waiting for an extra length of time for an officer to arrive to a violent crime in progress,” Best added.
Seattle’s experiment in chasing the police out of an area of the city should serve as a warning for anyone supporting defunding the police.
Without police, the six block Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone descended into a state of nature where no law enforcement existed to protect innocent people from violent crime.
