All hell will break loose after Bernie Sanders just started a Democrat Party Civil War
The Democrat Party is in complete disarray.
Some Democrats are beginning to lose patience over the fact that Joe Biden’s socialist agenda stalled out in Congress.
And all hell will break loose after Bernie Sanders just started a Democrat Party Civil War.
Democrat Senators Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia killed the Left’s push to nuke the legislative filibuster.
If Democrats succeeded in killing the filibuster, Schumer could ram through a massive federal power grab over the control of elections.
The Democrats’ bill would allow for massive ballot-harvesting schemes and expanded mail-in-voting in every state while rendering voter ID laws toothless.
Manchin and Sinema do not represent blue states, and both are up for re-election in 2024 when Democrats face an uphill fight to retain those seats.
Since Democrats viewed the federal election takeover bill as the key to permanent power in America, socialists were furious with Manchin and Sinema.
Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders accused Manchin and Sinema of being traitors to democracy by preserving the Senate tradition of protecting minority rights.
“As the voting rights bill finally comes to the floor of the Senate, there is only one vote which will really matter,” Sanders wrote. “Will 50 Democrats vote to override the filibuster, protect American democracy and pass the bill, or will Manchin and Sinema vote with the GOP and let the bill die?”
Sanders got a boost in his crusade to shame Manchin and Sinema from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Schumer promised to hold votes on both passing the federal election takeover bill and on eliminating the filibuster.
“Make no mistake, the United States Senate will — for the first time this Congress —debate voting rights legislation beginning on Tuesday. Members of this chamber were elected to debate and to vote, particularly on an issue as vital to the beating heart of our democracy as this one. And we will proceed,” Schumer declared.
Majority Leaders usually go out of their way to protect their most vulnerable members by shielding them from tough votes.
But especially in the case of Sinema, Schumer is opening her up to a left-wing Primary challenger by forcing her to take multiple votes against the main priorities of the Democrat Party base.
However, Schumer forcing these votes could come back to bite Democrats in the long term.
If Schumer weakens Sinema’s standing with base Democrats by taking these votes, it could lead to a socialist Primary challenger – who has no chance of holding the seat in 2024 – defeating Sinema in a Primary.
