Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said one word that told everyone she is running for President in 2024
Few Democrats believe Joe Biden is actually going to run for President in 2024 due to his advanced age and serious and obvious cognitive decline.
Biden not running for re-election will create a massive void in the Democrat Party that someone will need to fill.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said one word that told everyone she is running for President in 2024.
Democrats are not happy the Biden administration was not ready with a plan on how to respond to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
Biden and his fellow Democrats had more than a month’s advance warning that this day was coming.
A leaker passed a draft opinion authored by Justice Samuel Alito showing there were five votes to overturn Roe to POLITICO the first week in May.
When the Court released the decision striking down Roe on June 24, 2022, the final ruling hewed closely to the draft opinion with only minor alterations.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was one of the many Democrats who sensed a power vacuum on the Left and sought to fill it.
Right after the decision was dropped, Ocasio-Cortez marched over to the Court and led a crowd in what critics alleged were calls for insurrection against the Court by chanting “illegitimate” and “take to the streets.”
Ocasio-Cortez then appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press, where she outlined a left-wing wish list of responses to the decision.
“What we need to do is show the American people that when they give the Democratic Party power and when they actually do vote for us, that we will be using and we are willing to use the power that they do give us in order to merit increased expansions in our majority,” Ocasio-Cortez stated.
Joe Biden’s low approval numbers and senility have Democrats openly saying he cannot and should not run for President.
In 2024, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will turn 35, making her constitutionally eligible to serve as President.
Ocasio-Cortez always said she never intended her last office held would be in the House of Representatives.
And Ocasio-Cortez’s increased visibility following the Dobbs decision is calling back attention to an interview she gave on Stephen Colbert’s show back in January of 2019 after first entering the House of Representatives.
Colbert asked Ocasio-Cortez about veteran members of Congress who told her that she had to “wait your turn, go slow.”
Colbert then asked Ocasio-Cortez how much consideration she gave such advice.
“On a scale of zero to some, how many f#cks do you give?” Colbert followed up.
Ocasio-Cortez responded that she gave “zero” time to Democrats telling her to wait her turn.
And that increasingly looks like it could apply to a potential Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Presidential campaign.
