Ocasio-Cortez leads the next nearest contender – Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders – by a two-to-one margin.

Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders topping this poll comes as no surprise as Democrats are flocking in massive numbers to the rallies Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez hold around the country where the two rant about oligarchy and the need to impose socialism on Americans.
But these poll numbers are a worry for Democrats who want to win elections.
ESPN host Stephen A. Smith said on his podcast that if you love open borders, woke ideology, and socialism then Ocasio-Cortez is your candidate.
“I think if you are a Democrat, if you are a leftist who rails against the system, who believes free-market capitalism spearheaded by billionaires is not the way to go, if you believe that not enough attention is being paid to the desolate and disenfranchised, if you believe that higher taxes is the way to go, that a focus shouldn’t be on securing the borders, if you believe those kind of things, and that’s where you stand ideologically, AOC is your candidate,” Smith declared. “No doubt about that.”
But Smith said that Ocasio-Cortez holds a host of issue positions that make her unelectable in a Presidential Election.
Ocasio-Cortez supports banning private health insurance.
Ocasio-Cortez supports a 70 percent tax rate.
Ocasio-Cortez supports the Green New Deal, which will ban gas-powered cars.
“She clearly is (progressive left). And not be literal and not to be taken literally, but she gives the impression, when you talk about universal healthcare and you talk about other things, if you equate it to taxing Americans 70% of their income she wouldn’t be against it. That ain’t going to win you elections. That’s not going to win you elections,” Smith added.
Smith explained that Ocasio-Cortez’s support for allowing biological males to play girls’ sports is a deal breaker for many voters.
“If you’re living in this day and age, and you’re talking about fighting for certain rights as it pertains to transgender individuals, athletes transitioning, and men competing in women’s sports and stuff like that, which she is not about to speak against. If you think that’s going to win you an election, you’ve got your head in the sand,” Smith continued.
Smith said that many Democrat Party voters, such as the truck drivers and working-class black men and Hispanics, won’t vote for radical left candidates like Ocasio-Cortez.
These blue-collar voters provided President Trump the margin of victory in the popular vote against Kamala Harris.
Stephen A. Smith believes that if Democrats run Ocasio-Cortez as their nominee, 2028 will be a repeat of 2024.
