Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dropped the hammer on Chuck Schumer with this major demand

Chuck Schumer has a major problem on his hands.

It could tear the Democrat Party apart.

And that’s because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dropped the hammer on Chuck Schumer with this major demand.

Chuck Schumer’s legislative strategy in the first year of Joe Biden’s Presidency revolved around keeping the Left happy.

Schumer’s sole consideration was not allowing any space for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to challenge him in a 2022 Primary.

But that turned out to be a strategy of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Ocasio-Cortez keeps demanding that Schumer put swing-state Democrat Senators like Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema in uncomfortable positions due to the fact that she won’t support trillions in new socialist spending or blowing up the legislative filibuster.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to a report that Sinema asked Schumer for more structure and organization in Senate votes by demanding that he “make their lives as difficult as possible.”

“Actually he should continue to make their lives as difficult as possible and treat them the way they treat, say, public housing residents. Or parents who rely on CTC. When they improve, maybe the process can improve too. Why should we make the lives of obstructionists easier?” Ocasio-Cortez declared.

Ocasio-Cortez also blasted Sinema for raising money from big money donors due to the fact that her grassroots fundraising dried up.

“Cancel vacation. Vote on weekends. Vote for hours. Vote last minute. Call votes when Senators are courting billionaires at fundraisers. They may get apoplectic, but it’s nothing compared to the people they’re forcing to sleep without heat in winter, or losing the right to vote,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted.

Last quarter, Sinema raised an impressive $1.5 million dollars.

But 98 percent of that came from contributions of $200 or more, meaning the low dollar, grassroots fundraising base of the Democrat Party now treats Sinema like a pariah.

If Ocasio-Cortez gets her way and a radical socialist like Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego defeats Sinema in a Primary, Democrats are in big trouble.

Should Democrats hang on to control of the Senate this November, an extremist candidate like Gallego would likely lose the seat and endanger their majority.

If Republicans win control of the Senate, a socialist like Gallego running in a swing state like Arizona could tank the Democrats’ chances of winning back the Senate.

In any event, Ocasio-Cortez’s pressure campaign on Chuck Schumer is a disaster for Democrats.
