All hell is about to break loose in Washington.

Both parties are on edge.

And this Supreme Court Justice may retire and you won’t believe who will replace them.

Democrats want Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to retire

Justice Sonia Sotomayor is one of the three leftist justices on the Supreme Court.

Sotomayor thrills the socialist base with her hair on fire dissents such as her “Immune. Immune. Immune” rant opposing the majority ruling in the Presidential immunity case that gutted the lawfare against Donald Trump.

But Sotomayor is also 70 years old and suffers from Type1 diabetes.

The left’s only allegiance is to power.

And with Donald Trump and a GOP Senate majority taking power in January there are conversations percolating inside the Democrat Party to force Sotomayor to retire to prevent a repeat of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg fiasco.

“And though the discourse in the media is presently dominated by recriminations about how this all happened, another arguably more urgent conversation is blowing up largely outside of public view: whether to push for 70-year-old Supreme Court Justice SONIA SOTOMAYOR to step down while Dems still have the power to approve her replacement,” POLITICO Playbook reports.

Ginsburg refused to retire after Barack Obama won re-election in 2012 and Democrats controlled the Senate.

Ginsburg then passed away in September 2020 allowing Trump and the Republican controlled Senate to confirm Amy Coney Barrett as her replacement tilting the court 6-3 conservative.

Barrett’s nomination gave conservatives the votes to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Democrat’s new nightmare is Sotomayor’s health forcing her to step down in the next two years and Trump nominating another conservative to create a 7-2 conservative majority.

Sotomayor’s replacement plans

Democrats would orchestrate this so Sotomayor would only resign on the condition her successor be a liberal firebrand.

One Democrat Senator told POLITICO “she can sort of resign conditionally on someone being appointed to replace her.”

“But she can’t resign conditioned on a specific person. What happens if she resigns and the nominee to replace her isn’t confirmed and the next president fills the vacancy?” the Senator added.

The plan would also depend on outgoing independent Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema getting on board with this scheme, which is no small task considering Democrats ran both out of the Senate.

“We would have to have assurances from any shaky senator that they would back a nominee in the lame duck, because what do you do if she announces she’s going to step down and then independent West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin doesn’t support her and then Republican Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski back off and say they’re not going to support a new nominee?” a top Democrat told POLITICO

But who would replace Sotomayor?

CNN’s Bakari Sellers had an idea.

Kamala Harris has a legal background and is out of a job come January 20, 2025.

“You have a hell of a Vice President right there with a legal pedigree to sit on the Supreme Court and let Republicans go crazy [inaudible] without even mentioning that option,” Sellers declared during an appearance on CNN.
