A judge said one thing to William Barr that put a huge smile on Nancy Pelosi’s face
Attorney General William Barr is one of the Left’s biggest villains.
They despise him because he was appointed by President Trump.
And now a judge said one thing to William Barr that put a huge smile on Nancy Pelosi’s face.
Following the release of Robert Mueller’s report proving Trump didn’t collude with Russia, one would hope America would come together.
But Democrats are furious that their two-year investigation came out as a win for the president, and the country as a whole.
And they are demanding more from the Justice Department, trying to order Barr to turn over the report, without redactions.
Barr has so far refused their demands, considering it would be illegal to follow through.
But now a federal judge in Washington, D.C. is on the side of the Democrats, pressing Justice Department lawyers on why they won’t release the entire report, and criticizing Barr on his handling of the report.
The Hill reports:
A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Monday pressed Department of Justice (DOJ) lawyers on why the public shouldn’t be allowed to see redacted portions of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, suggesting that he may be willing to consider releasing at least some of the restricted document.
Judge Reggie Walton, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, posed the questions during a hearing on a pair of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits seeking the redacted portions of the report.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and BuzzFeed News reporter Jason Leopold filed the lawsuits earlier this year. The cases have since been consolidated, and attorneys for each party split the arguments during Monday’s hearing.
Walton in particular raised concerns about Attorney General William Barr’s initial handling of Mueller’s report, indicating that he believed there were discrepancies in how Barr characterized the report and the former special counsel’s actual findings.
These are some of the same redactions Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat Party have been demanding from Barr’s Justice Department.
But Pelosi instead was trying to gain the entire report, without any redactions.
Doing so would be illegal, so naturally Barr refused to comply.
And in turn, Democrats in the House voted to hold in him contempt of Congress.
Needless to say, Pelosi will hold this as a solid win, to claim that she was correct in her erroneous vote to hold Barr in contempt of Congress.
