A group of Democrats are facing arrest because of one decision about voter fraud
Republicans were fuming.
Democrats pulled one of the most outrageous stunts in recent memory.
And now this group of Democrats are facing arrest because of one decision about voter fraud.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott called a special session so the legislature could take up an election integrity bill that would improve voter ID, ban drive through voting, make it easier to remove noncitizens from the voting rolls, and that would also add more early voting.
Joe Biden lied and called this bill Jim Crow 2.0.
Texas Democrats fled the state to deny the Republicans a quorum to hold the vote and pass the bill.
Reporters asked Governor Abbott what he could do.
The first thing that would happen, Governor Abbott stated the Speaker of the House would issue a call to arrest the Democrats once they returned to Texas.
“First of all, I’ll tell you what the House of Representatives can do. What the Speaker can do is issue a call to have these members arrested,” Governor Abbott declared.
Abbott added that if Democrats thought they could wait out the special session – which ends August 6 – they were sorely mistaken.
Governor Abbott announced he would call special session after special session and Democrats would have to decide if they didn’t want their staff to get paid and remain out of state until the 2022 election.
“In addition to that, however, I can and I will continue to call a special session after special session after special session all the way up until [the] election next year. And so if these people want to be hanging out wherever they’re hanging out on this taxpayer-paid junket, they’re going to have to be prepared to do it for well over a year,” Governor Abbott added.
Governor Abbott explained that as soon as the Democrats re-entered Texas law enforcement would arrest them, and bring them to the Capitol so the legislature could hold a vote on the election integrity measure.
“As soon as they come back in the state of Texas, they will be arrested, they will be cabined inside the Texas Capitol until they get their job done. Everybody who has a job must show up to do that job, just like your viewers watching right now. State Representatives have that same responsibility,” Governor Abbott concluded.
