The Democrat Party is searching for someone to step up and lead the resistance to Donald Trump.

Someone finally decided to give it a go.

And one top Democrat made this bad choice to fight with Trump in public.

President Trump’s executive order defunding states that violate Title IX by permitting men to compete in women’s sports is one of Trump’s most popular policies.

A New York Times/Ipsos poll found 79 percent of Americans oppose allowing biological males to play women’s sports.

But Democrats are determined to pick a fight with Trump on this issue when nearly 80 percent of the public is against them.

During a meeting with the nation’s governors, Donald Trump called out Maine Governor Janet Mills to her face for defying federal law and allowing men to play high school sports against girls.

When Mills claimed she was following the law, Trump reminded her that “we are the federal law.”

Mills pushed back “I’ll see you in court” to which Trump responded by mocking Mills for picking such a stupid fight.

If Mills wanted a court fight, a court fight she would get.

Six hours after daring President Trump to sue, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights division announced an investigation into Maine violating Title IX of the Civil Rights Act.

“Maine would have you believe that it has no choice in how it treats women and girls in athletics — that is, that it must follow its state laws and allow male athletes to compete against women and girls,” Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Craig Trainor stated.

Trainor explained that President Trump’s executive order left no room for ifs, ands, or buts and that if Maine wanted to continue to receive federal funds it needed to be in compliance with federal law.

“Let me be clear,” Trainor continued. “If Maine wants to continue to receive federal funds from the Education Department, it has to follow Title IX. If it wants to forgo federal funds and continue to trample the rights of its young female athletes, that, too, is its choice. OCR will do everything in its power to ensure taxpayers are not funding blatant civil rights violators.”

Mills complained that President Trump simply asking Maine to follow the science that says there are only two genders and men can’t be women was tantamount to dictatorship in America.

“Who and what will he target next? Will it be you? Will it be because of your race or your religion? Will it be because you look different or think differently? Where does it end?” Mills ranted.

“In America, the President is neither a King nor a dictator, as much as this one tries to act like it – and it is the rule of law that prevents him from being so,” Mills went on to say.

Democrats drawing a line in the sand on men in women’s sports will thrill Republicans who are happy to have this fight every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
